The Castle Lager Premier Soccer will on Tuesday launch this year's edition of the Sup8r Cup in the capital, Standardsport reported.
The football governing body announced this development on their Facebook page yesterday.
Eight teams which finished in top eight last year will take part in the competition whose total package will also be made public on Tuesday as well as the new sponsors of the tournament after BancABC pulled out with last year's edition being their last participation in the tournament.
Sources close to the football body revealed to this publication that mobile network providers, NetOne, are set to bankroll the Sup8r Cup.
NetOne used to bankroll the season opener, NetOne Charity Shield, which was not on the PSL calendar of activities this year with two semifinal matches of the Independence Cup kick- starting the league this year.
The top eight teams that will participate are Dynamos, Highlanders, Harare City, FC Platinum, CAPS United, Chicken Inn, How Mine and Triangle.
The dates of the first matches are yet to be finalised but sources said the matches might start this coming weekend with the league taking a sabbatical to mark the halfway mark.
