Zimbabwean international and Kaizer Chiefs left back, Zhaimu Jambo, is reported to have retired from football due to a recurring injury.
South African football website Soccerladuma has reported the sad development.
After reports two months ago that Jambo was set for a pre-season return at Chiefs after the horrendous knee injury, the Zimbabwean international is said to have decided not to carry on playing, after failing to fully recover.
Jambo suffered the injury in an Absa premiership match against Bidvest Wits during the 2012/13 season.
Jambo's retirement is good news for Chiefs who now have another vacant foreign player slot.
This was confirmed by the Amakhosi football manager Bobby Moutang during a media conference.
Jambo's retirement has also been confirmed by the Amakhosi on their official twitter where they posted "Jimmy Jambo has decided to hang up his boots because of his injury."
