Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Triangle United have signed Cameroonian striker Herve Djouta-Djouta on a one year contact, The Zimbabwe Mail has learnt.
The West African player has been training at the Lowveld-based side since last week.
The striker is set to bolster the side's attack which currently has Richard Kawondera, Blessing Maziwisa, former Hippo Valley striker Felix Kutswatuka and Lameck Nhamo.
A source within the Lowveld side revealed the player had already signed the contract, with the only remaining issue being the international clearance.
"We signed the player yesterday (Thursday) on a one year contract and he is a good player. He has been training with the squad for the past week. His agent Tinashe Gomba was representing him and we are now waiting for his clearance," said the source.
Triangle United chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze Friday acknowledged the player was in their plans, saying they spent the whole of Thursday trying to register him with the Premier Soccer League.
"I can't say we signed him, but the player is in our plans. He still has some modalities to meet with the Premier Soccer League (PSL)," said Matikinyidze.
"But we are trying to register him, that is what we spent the entire day (yesterday) trying to do, definitely we are hoping that everything is going to be a success," he added.
Triangle United, who are currently in 14th position on the 16-team log table, will lock horns with fellow strugglers Bantu Rovers, who are placed 15th, at Gibbo Stadium on Sunday.
The home side will come into the match under pressure after losing their previous game 2-3 to Chapungu at Ascot Stadium in Gweru, while their counterparts Bantu Rovers recorded a nil-all draw with Highlanders in the Bulawayo derby.
