Lloyd Mutasa has resigned as FC Platinum's head coach, a year after taking over as the platinum miners' gaffer.

Mutasa took over from Tenant Chilumba who left Kugona Kunenge Kudada for Zambian outfit Power Dynamos.

FC Platinum's spokesperson Chido Chizondo says Lloyd has quit due to what he has termed as failure to live to full potential.

Mutasa will be replaced by Patrick Mandizha who is currently assistant coach in the junior development programme.

In a statement issued out by FC Platinum, a substantive head coach will be announced as soon as the executive identifies a suitable candidate to take over the position.

Lloyd Mutasa had mixed fortunes in Zvishavane in a period where he guided the platinum miners to a fourth place finish in the 2013 season.

Samaita, as Mutasa is popularly known, led Kugona Kunenge Kudada to victory in the 2014 Independence Cup, but it was in the league where FC Platinum had been struggling.

The platinum miners currently sit in sixth position with 25 points, 7 points adrift of log leaders Highlanders, a position the FC Platinum management is believed to have been unhappy with.
