Triangle FC 1 - 2 Dynamos FC
DYNAMOS produced a brilliant second half performance that saw them dispatch Triangle at Gibbo Stadium yesterday.
The Harare giants have now collected 39 points from 20 matches and are sitting pretty at the top of the 16-team table, one point ahead of Highlanders and ZPC Kariba.
The home side took the lead in the 30th minute after impressive right back Praise Tonha scored from a free-kick just outside the box.
But Dynamos rallied back to equalise in the second half through Augustine Mbara who converted from the spot in the 56th minute before super-sub Washington Pakamisa grabbed the winner in the 69th minute.
With only two minutes played, Dembare were awarded a free-kick a few metres outside the box and the delivery landed on Farai Mupasiri who headed to Walter Mukanga but the goal was ruled off-side by Kwekwe assistant referee Thomas Kusosa.
The hosts responded four minutes later with former Shabanie Mine midfielder Hardlife Mavundi having some good ball exchanges with striker Graham Ncube who delivered an inviting cross into the box.
Dynamos goalkeeper Artwell Mukandi was, however, well positioned to deny Triangle's Brian Juwaweyi a chance to head the ball home.
Dembare piled on more pressure in search of an opener but their efforts were repelled by the Triangle defenders.
In the 11th minute Ronald Chitiyo sent in a through pass from the middle of the park which found a well positioned Tafadzwa Rusike but his skied shot was not a threat to Triangle goalie Ronald Mudimu.
The match was played at high tempo with both teams creating chances but Dynamos were on top of the situation in the first half of the match.
Dynamos midfielder Walter Mukanga had a goal ruled off-side just two minutes into the game.
In the 22nd minute Dynamos defender Themba Ndlovu almost conceded an own goal after poorly clearing a Muvundi shot but Mukandi produced a fine save.
In the 30th minute Triangle won a free-kick on the edge of the box after Blessing Moyo had hacked Graham Ncube down.
Tonha kept his cool to strike the ball home.
Triangle almost doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Hillary Bakacheza fed Richard Kawondera inside the box but he had other ideas as he fired the ball wide.
Dynamos started the second half with clear intentions of getting an equaliser by substituting Farai Mupasiri for Anesu Gondo in the 50th minute.
Six minutes later Dynamos were awarded a penalty after defender Jimmy Dzingai was adjudged to have handled inside the box. Mbara scored from the resultant penalty kick.
Pakamisa, who came in for Mukanga in the 61st minute, then scored the winner for the Glamour Boys from close range after benefiting from a move that was engineered by Chitiyo.
Triangle were, however, denied what seemed like a genuine penalty in the 75th minute after defender Blessing Moyo appeared to handle in the box.
Dynamos then defended in numbers as they hung on to their lead.
