Kaizer Chiefs not giving up on Musona

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has hinted that the club may try again to sign Knowledge Musona in the January transfer window.
According to Musona's representatives ProSport International, "the player was not prepared to sign an agreement for longer than the current season (one-year loan agreement)" and Motaung says that's exactly the reason the deal fell through with Hoffenheim.
"Musona's issue is simple, the two clubs agreed on certain (conditions) on the deal - a loan deal and a long-term solution which gave us the right to exercise an outright buy on him," he said.
"But the player had to consent to the deal. Unfortunately, the player still wanted to do a short-term deal where he comes and he can always go back to Europe at any given time whether during the season or end of the season if the opportunity arises, but obviously from an investment point of view it didn't make business sense for us. You can't invest huge money on a short-term deal that doesn't give you the returns.
"We would still pursue the matter going forward without pressure because there is a transfer window in January. The matter is not closed. If he feels that he wants to continue there (in Europe) that's his right, but Musona is like a son to us and he will always be welcome at Chiefs."
