SHE-POLOPOLO Zambia yesterday ended their unforgettable COSAFA Women's Championship outing in Zimbabwe on a good note after beating Botswana 4-1 at Rufaro Stadium in Harare in their final Group B match.
Enala Simbeya's side exit the COSAFA Women's Championship on three points from as many games at the tournament following 4-1 and 2-0 defeats at the hands of South Africa and Tanzania respectively, who have both advanced to tomorrow's semifinals.
Meanwhile, Zambia and Botswana were evenly poised in the first 45 minutes of their formality match before heading back home.
Chisala Musonda brought the best out of Botswana goalkeeper Peggy Segokgo in the 10th minute.
10 minutes later, Gauta Tsebe's shot for Botswana was saved by Ennie Matukuta who replaced first choice goalkeeper Miriam Katamanda following an injury she sustained in Zambia's loss to Tanzania on Sunday.
Zambia took the lead 10 minutes before half time through midfielder Mupopo Kabange who breached Botswana's defence before beating Sekokgo for the two teams to go 1-0 into halftime.
Kabange added a second goal just four minutes played into the second half as Zambia began to stamp their authority on the game.
Zambia stretched their lead with a third in the 77th minute through striker Noria Sosala.
Striker Gift Lisaka who replaced midfielder Mwangala Kamuti in the 42nd minute made it 4-0 in the 88th minute.
Botswana's consolation came deep into time added-on of the 90 minutes via a free kick converted by Bonang Otlhagile.
