Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors are through to the final of the Cosafa Women's championships after beating Tanzania 4-2 on post match penalties on Thursday at Rufaro Stadium.

The hero of the day was Aces Youth Academy goalkeeper Onai Chingawo who saved three penalties, one in regulation time and two others in the much feared penalty shootouts.

The two teams were deadlocked at goalless at the end of normal time after the Twiga Stars had threatened to upset the Zimbabweans with a polished performance.

That was before Chingawo came into the picture saving efforts from Fatuma Salum and Fatuma Makusana while Zimbabwe converted all their penalty kicks through Nomuhla Majika, Emmaculte Msipa, Erina Jeke and Kudakwashe Basopo for victory.

Zimbabwe had to play the match with ten players after Eunice Chibanda was shown the red card for what the referee adjudged to be a crude challenge though from the outset it appeared the Zimbabwean had not fouled the Tanzanian player.

The Mighty Warriors will now play traditional rivals South Africa in Saturday's final at Rufaro Stadium. The South Africans qualified to this stage after hammering a battling Malawi 5-1.
