SOUTH Africa's Under-23 soccer side qualified for 2011 All Africa Games finals in Mozambique in September despite going down 1-0 to businesslike Zimbabwe in Harare yesterday.
The South Africans qualified after for the Games on a 2-1 aggregate after they beat the Young Warriors 2-0 in the first leg of the qualifier in Daveyton a fortnight ago.
Yesterday's solitary goal was scored by Donald Ngoma in a match played at the 35000-seat Rufaro Stadium but it counted for nothing as Ephraim "Shakes" Mashaba and his troops will be heading to Maputo for the AAG finals to be played from September 3 to 18.
Mashaba could not be reached for comment but team manager Levy Ramajoe was full of praise for the team.
