Zimbabwe Saints chairman Felix Dzumbunu confirmed the team was looking
for a coach and there was nothing concrete regarding the Masvingo United
gaffer Luke Masomere even though the rumor in town is linking Chikwata with the Masvingo coach.
Masomere confirmed he had quit as coach of Division One club Masvingo United, but would not discuss his imminent move to the Zimbabwe Saints.
Zimbabwe Saints coaches Willard Mashinkila-Khumalo and his dismissed assistant Agent Sawu have been accused of fanning divisions among the players and Masvingo United coach Luke Masomere is set to be roped in to normalise the situation.
Chikwata last week fired Mashinkila's assistant Agent Sawu amid claims that player loyalties were split between the two men.
Chikwata defended the action arguing it was a move aimed at curbing divisions in the technical department, which was creating camps within the players and affecting the team's performance.
The club has maintained that head coach Mashinkila-Khumalo is on compassionate leave as he is not feeling well.
