DYNAMOS players are set to receive 40% of the $100 000 total prize money for winning the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.

Delta Beverages, who sponsor the league through their Castle Lager brand, have increased this year's prize money to $100 000 up from last year's $70 000 for winning the championship.

But the Dynamos executive says the players would share 40% of the $100 000 prize money after lifting the championship on Sunday while ZPC Kariba, who emerged runners-up will walk away with $60 000.

The champions have a registered squad of 35 players meaning each of them will get about $1 142.

Dynamos chairman Keni Mubaiwa said for the technical team it would depend on one's contract.

"We will give them (the players) 40% of the prize money. That's what we did last year and it will be the same this season. For members of the technical team, it will depend on one's contract. The other 60% will go towards administration costs and also pay players what we owe them," said Mubaiwa.

This is despite that there was an increment in prize money from last year.

The prize money offer by Dynamos is in sharp contrast to what their counterparts in South Africa give to their players at the end of the season.

South African defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns walked away with R10 million in prize money after winning the championship in the previous season translating to about $1 million. In addition, Sundowns also won South African Premiership Quarter 1, 3 and 4 - a total of R4,5 million.

Last season Dynamos players were involved in a row with the club hierarchy over the distribution of the prize money as they rejected a 40% offer.

The triumph by Dynamos confirmed Kalisto Pasuwa as the first coach to win four league titles in a row.

Sadly Pasuwa has disclosed he will not be renewing his contract which is due to expire on December 31 and former Warriors coach Ian Gorowa is the front runner to succeed him. Dynamos have indicated they will not play in the African Champions League if they do not secure sponsorship.
