Soccer Fixtures: Week 17

After a bit of a break, your weekly update is back, a lot has happened since the last update, we pick it up from week 17, in which FC Platinum continue to shine under Rahman Gumbo.

4 games played, 2 home wins and 1 away win and a draw. A total of 13 goals scored.

WINNERS
FC Platinum recorded their 11th win of the season and are now unbeaten in their last 7 league games since their 2-1 away defeat to Motor action. The Special one- Rahman Gumbo has not wasted time to make an impact on the local premiership. He has been in charge of the last 6 games and has won 5 of those and a 1-1 draw away from home at Mucheke stadium to Masvingo utd. He is on 3 home wins, 2 away wins and the Masvingo draw. In his fine run they have scored 11 goals and conceded just 2. In their 7 match unbeaten run, they have hit 12 goals and conceded the two goals. They open up a five point lead ahead of the Sunday fixtures. They complete a double over Kiglon.

Monoz got only their 4th win of the 2011 season, they are the draw specialist of the league having recorded 10 draws- the most. Until their defeat to Motor action last week, they were on a 8 match unbeaten run, with 6 draws and 2 wins. They have now collected 3 points from chicken in after they drew the first fixture in Bulawayo.

Shooting stars got their 2nd straight win and their 5th of the season and will hope to continue playing well in Mutare. Depending on Sundays results the bottom 6, might be separated by a point or two, making the relegation battle a tight one.

Gunners dropped points at home, but are now unbeaten in their last 3 games under Chunga. Assuming they get points for their abandoned match last week, when they were leading Caps utd, they will be back in their fight for survival.

Blue Ribbon made it 7 draws, they are now unbeaten in their last 6 games, since their away defeat- 0-3 to Masvingo utd. They have 5 draws and 1 win in the last 6 games, 2-1 over Dembare.

LOSERS
Chicken Inn has now failed to win in the last 5 games, since they beat Kiglon 3-1. They managed 3 draws and 2 defeats. They final scored a goal, having failed to do so in the last 4 games, since the Kiglon win.

It is not looking good for Zim saints after they deregistered 7 senior players and opted for division one players from the southern region. Since their 2-1 win over Gunners, they are yet to win in their last 7 games. Chikwata is on 3 draws and 4 defeats in that run.

After back to back goalless draws with Bosso, Kiglon suffered a second defeat , inside a couple of weeks at the hands of Platinum, they remain in the 16 points group.

SUNDAY FIXTURES
Dynamos vs Caps utd- Dynamos win
Mutuma- 4 goals
Tafirenyika- 5 goals

Unbeaten in their last 3 league games, in which they have not conceded, Dembare are the favourites to pick maximum points. They have not lost in their last 5 in all competitions, since the 2-1 defeat to Blue Ribbon, conceding once to Hwange in a cup match. Assuming the abandoned match result stands, as should be the case, Caps utd have not won their last four league games, its 5 games, including a cup game, they have also not scored a goal in the 5 games. They lost the first encounter 1-0 with Dembare left with 10 men. Its game number 3 for Jongwe and Bunjira as coaches at caps utd-

Hwange vs Highlanders- Hwange win
Gilbert zulu- 3 goals
Njabulo- 5 goals

Hwange won this fixture 1-0 at BF a couple of weeks ago and are unbeaten in their last 3 league games since their home defeat to Fc Platinum 1-0, although they lost a cup game to Dynamos. Before that defeat, they were on a 4 match unbeaten run. Bosso is failing to find the net, they have failed to find the net in their last 3 league games, since they beat saints 3-0, before the saints win they had suffered two 2-0 defeats to Fc Platinum and Motor Action respectively.
Masvingo utd vs Motor Action- Draw

Zimbabe- 5 goals
Chitato- 4 goals

This fixture ended 1-1 in Harare. Masvingo are unbeaten at home, but Motor Action with one defeat this season- the least by any team, are a difficult team to beat and might just grind a draw. Masvingo have not won in 5 games, since the 3-0 win over Blue Ribbon at home, managing 3 draws and 2 defeats. Motor Action is on a 12 match unbeaten run, since their only defeat so far this season to shooting stars on week 4. It is a run of 6 wins and 6 draws. They won their last fixture having played 4 consecutive draws before the win last week. They have also conceded the least goals- 6.

Shabanie vs Mambas- Shabanie win
Caleb Masocha- 3 goals
Rundofa- 4 goals

Mambas won this fixture 5-1 in Harare, Shabanie need the points and they might just use home advantage to pick maximum points.
