FORMER Cup Kings Caps United Football Club, will tomorrow unveil their new technical set-up ahead of the pre-season preparations.

Relegated army side gaffer Jostein Mathuthu, has emerged as a clear favourite to take over from Taurai Mangwiro, who resigned last month and has since taken over at Harare City.

Mangwiro resigned with his assistant coach Mike Madzivanyika and they are together at the Sunshine Boys.

Mathuthu has coached Makepekepe before. He could be assisted by former player turned radio football analyst Alois Bunjira while veteran goalkeepers' trainer Reuben Tswatswa will continue his role as the goalkeepers' coach.

Caps United chief executive officer Joe Makuvire who was tasked with recruitment of coaches told Chronicle Sport yesterday that the head hunting exercise had been finalised.

"Our technical staff is now in place and announcements will be made on Wednesday just before the dawn of the New Year," said Makuvire.

He refused to shed any light on their new technical team but said they were not necessarily looking at a former Caps United player like what their rivals, Dynamos and to some extent Highlanders did.

"We were looking for a coach with the ability to work for Caps United, being a former player was not part of the criteria that we looked at. We are an open family that is free to work with anyone who shares the same vision with us, local or foreign," said Makuvire.

The Makepekepe head of secretariat said after the announcements tomorrow, they will re-group as a team on January 7 where they will introduce their coaches to the players and there after, it will be down to serious business of preparing for the 2015 season.

The country's three biggest clubs had all their coaches stepping down within two months, Highlanders partying ways with Kelvin Kaindu, Dynamos going separate ways with Callisto Pasuwa before Caps United's Mangwiro changed allegiance to the town house.

Bosso have since engaged Bongani Mafu while The Glamour Boys are now under David "Yogi" Mandigora.
