AmaZulu and Zimbabwe captain Carlington Nyadombo has been linked with a potential move to European side Gabala FK, who campaign in the Azerbaijan Premier League (APL).
This comes after Nyamdombo's countryman and reigning Zimbabwe Castle Premiership Player of the Year Dennis Dauda failed to make the grade at the APL club recently.
According to the Zimbabwe's largest daily newspaper The Herald, the 26-year-old ZPC Kariba center-half is set to try his luck in the Absa Premiership, as he bids to secure a professional contract outside his home land.
"The suggestion from the Dauda handlers is that they will try to get him to play for a team in South Africa before he can make another fresh bid to join a club in Europe," the statement read.
The publication went on to reveal that Usuthu skipper Nyadombo was now on the radar of Gabala, as the strong centre-half fits the description of a 'big and tough defender', the ambitious club is looking for.
"With the door closing on Dauda, another Zimbabwean defender Carlington Nyadombo might make it to Europe as his direct replacement at the Azerbaijani club," another statement read.
The 28-year-old player is in his final year of his AmaZulu contract, and he's available on a pre-contract.
