IF ALL goes well, Zephaniah Ngodzo will be playing alongside his young brother Joel at Highlanders this year.

His elder brother Johannes Ngodzo was undoubtedly one of the finest footballers ever to come out of Bulawayo and he also played for Bosso.

Zephaniah was at Bantu Rovers (now relegated) but he has been training with the Bulawayo giants since last month.

The all-round defender has been working under the wings of Mandla Lulu Mpofu during his days at Chicken Inn and Bantu Rovers for the past two seasons respectively and the two might be together again at Bosso.

Mandla has since joined Highlanders as Bongani Mafu's assistant coach and his influence might give Zephaniah a chance.

"I have been training with them since last month. Everything is smooth and I am enjoying my time there. At Bosso, I am not new, it's home for me. There isn't much that has changed but the coaches might feel otherwise. I am still fit and injury free. I am active and I trust to carry myself for two or more seasons," he said.

Asked how it feels to play in the same team with his brother Joel, Zephaniah was quick to respond, "Nothing funny".

"We have played together in the same team at Highlanders before but he was still a junior. We then moved to FC Platinum where we played together for two seasons.

"We are a football family and to us, there is nothing wrong. We just value our job and look forward to bring the best for our team.

"I am particularly pleased to share my experience with my young brother although we play different positions."

The 30-year-old player added, "What matters most is for all to be fit. We just have to be at our best to be appreciated."
