FORMER CAPS United and Warriors forward Nyasha Mushekwi could soon be back on the pitch to revive a troubled career after joining Danish Super League Club Hobro IK FC on a six-month loan deal.
Mushekwi is due to join his compatriot Quincy Antipas who is also in the side's books.
The 27-year-old striker had fallen out of favour at South Africa's Sundowns and was increasingly getting worried by the prospects of game time after the Brazilians coach Pitso Mosimane had not registered him for the current season.
However, his agent, Ralph Nkomo, told the South African media that he has found relief after founding a new home at HIK.
Mushekwi is expected to move to his new club immediately after all the paper work is in place.
Nkomo said they were waiting for the player's clearance from the Belgium League where he was last on loan for KV Oostende.
"Subject to registration he can start kicking the ball. He remains a Sundowns player until end of the current season.
"Look, it goes without saying that he wants out at Sundowns. What infuriated him most was that he was not even registered by the club for the 2014-15 season," said Nkomo.
The 27-year old striker still has six months remaining on his contract with Sundowns but it appears the coach Mosimane has not place for him in his team.
Instead the coach has been preferring Khama Billiat and Cuthbert Malajila or Liberian international Anthony Laffor.
But Mushekwi remains a Sundowns player, even after his spell in Belgium, where he played for KV Oostende between 2013 and 2014 before picking a serious injury.
The former Green Machine forward has since recovered and is itching for game time.
According to reports from South Africa, Mushekwi was only expected in that country this week from the Middle East, where he was consulting knee specialists and was following intense training methods at undisclosed, special facilities.
Hobro IK, promoted from the First Division to the top flight by virtue of being runners-up last season, are currently seventh in the Danish Super League table with 21 points from 17 matches.
Zimbabwean international Antipas has scored three goals and contributed as many assists in the current campaign.
Another Zimbabwean Silas Songani also plies his trade in the Danish league at Sonderjyske.
