New Caps United coach Mark Harrison finally arrived in the country after securing a work permit following weeks of speculation that the coach was no longer coming.
The British coach was recently appointed Caps United coach just two days after handing in his resignation at South African club Black Leopards.
He arrived at Harare International Airport accompanied by his wife and told reporters he was looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"It took a bit of time to get the paperwork done but am glad I finally got the papers sorted. I need to make up for the lost time and hit the ground running. I will begin work on Monday but this afternoon I will get the first chance to look at players when they play a friendly game," said Harrison.
Harrison took over the head coach job at Leopards towards the end of November but then decided to abandon his duties at the club in favour of Makepekepe.
The England-born coach, joined Makepekepe on a three-year deal, and will be assisted by former Caps players Fungai 'Tostao' Kwashi and Brenna Msiska.
During the last four years, the 54-year-old has coached Mpumalanga Black Aces, African Warriors, Chippa United, Bay Stars (third tier league) and Golden Arrows and has built a reputation for moving from one job to another.
Harrison has also coached in Bangladesh.
Although Leopards are understood to have considered taking legal action against Harrison who was still contracted to the club until the end of the season, the coach denied this saying he was not reading much into what has been written about him in the media.
