FC Platinum in good start to their CAF campaign

Sofapaka 2-1 FC Platinum
FC Platinum made a good start to their CAF Confederations campaign when they beat Kenyan side Sofapaka 2-1 at the Nyayo National Stadium Stadium today.
The host dominated the early proceedings with FC Platinum restricted to going on the counter attack.
Sofapaka got the first real chance of the game in the 8th minute shooting just wide of Petros Mhari's goal. Sofapaka continued to threaten forcing good saves from Mhari who was equal to the task.
FC Platinum went into the lead through Brian Muzondiwa's goal in the 26th minute. Muzondiwa was let through on goal after a brilliant defence splitting pass by Wisdom Mutasa.
The first half ended with action swinging from one end to another and FC Platinum went into the break leading 1-0.
Sofapaka started the second half just like they did 1st half, applying early pressure and it paid off when they took advantage of sloppy defending from FC Platinum to equalise on the 47th minute.
FC Platinum were almost punished again soon after the goal as Sofapaka continued their onslaught.
Petros Mhari continued to be forced to make good saves as FC Platinum were restricked todefending with Sofapaka dominanting play.
However on the 74th minute mark Donald Ngoma reacted quickly after a Sofapaka's defender failed to clear the ball in the box to score FC Platinum's goal against the run of play.
Stunned bythe goal Sofapaka tried their best to level matters but came short as Mapeza's men did well to claim a vital away win.
The two sides meet in the return leg in two weeks' time at Mandava Stadium.
