HIGHLANDERS FC has hiked winning bonuses for away matches but reduced the allowance for home games after players demanded a review.

The players are said to have sent new captain Felix Chindungwe, his deputy Eric Mudzingwa and second vice captain Mthulisi Maphosa to negotiate reviews with management.

"Just last week before our game with ZPC Kariba, we sent our three captains Chindungwe Mudzingwa Mthulisi to seek an audience with the executive with regards to our winning bonuses.

'Our representatives managed to talk to the club's leaders. The captains told us the executive said they were going to come back to us with feedback," one of the players told B-Metro.

According to B-Metro, last season winning bonuses for away matches were pegged at $200 and this season promised were promised $170 and $140 for away and home wins respectively.

Club Chief Executive Office Ndumuso Gumede confirmed that the players demanded a review.

"Our incentives to the players are built around winning bonuses. We and the boys observed that last season we lost a lot of away games and against such a background we agreed on increasing away games winning bonuses for this season.

"The home games winning bonuses were reduced to a low rate which is also part of our austerity measures,".

But Gumede said 'figures are private and confidential,'
