Zimbabwe's Warriors have moved one step up the world rankings to number 125 in the world, according to the latest rankings released by FIFA on Thursday.

Germany is still the world's best football team while Algeria is the highest ranked African nation.

The Warriors' international inactivity continues to affect their world standings with the latest rankings released by FIFA showing just one step up from number 126 to 125.

Zimbabwe's opponents in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers Guinea are in the world's top 50.

Guinea, who appear to be clear favourites to progress from Group L, moved three steps up and are now 41st in the world.

Zimbabwe's other opponents in the group, the Flames of Malawi are 28 places higher than the Warriors and are number 97 in the world.

The only side ranked lower than Zimbabwe in their group are Swaziland who are on 175 after dropping 12 places down the ladder.

Algeria dropped three places from number 18 to 21 but are still Africa's highest ranked country followed by Cote d'Ivoire on 23.

The Elephants also dropped 3 places.

The Black Stars of Ghana dropped 2 places and are now number 26 followed by Tunisia (30) and Senegal (36).

The Cape Verde Islands who shocked Portugal 2-nil in an international friendly last month are now the 6th best team in Africa and are now number 37 in the world.

Guinea, Nigeria, Cameroon and Congo complete Africa's top 10.

Meanwhile, Belgium moved one place up and are now the world's third best team after Germany and Argentina who remain unchanged at number 1 and 2.

Colombia dropped to 4th while Brazil moved one place to 5th.

The Netherlands, Portugal, Uruguay, Switzerland and Spain complete the world's best 10 football national teams.
