Highlanders Football Club, Bosso engaged former Cup Kings, Caps United at the National Sports Stadium in a Castle Premier League encounter this afternoon. Amahlolanyama settled well taking control of the match. Tshilamoya who were 6 points behind log leaders before the match, Motor Action and had drawn 1-1 their last match at home against Chicken Inn, needed the goal more and were reward with an early Graham Ncube goal. They pushed further and were unlucky when a seemingly genuine goal was denied for offside.

This impacted on the rhythm of the game, and the boys lost some focus and concentration, allowing a defensive blunder to hand Caps an equaliser. The match was even at half-time and with Bosso hoping to up the stakes in the second half, the Lloyd Chitembwe coached side stole the lead after yet another defensive mix-up. This gave Makepekepe the impetus to go forward and the team that has its 3rd coach in a couple of months managed to steal yet another opportunity to seal a 3-1 victory, making the drive to Bulawayo a long one for Bosso and their legion of fans.

Mkhuphali Masuku's team could have narrowed the gap to a comfortable 3 points and hope the other results go their way, but now Highlanders live to fight another day., fourth on the table six points behind the Mighty Bulls, drew 1-1 with Chicken Inn in a Bulawayo derby last weekend and victory on Sunday could nudge them closer to the leaders. Having beaten Caps twice already might have led to the complacent approach for Mr Cooper and the gang, but this one was a valuable free lesson to hit a snake to kill. Their case was not helped by their Harare arch-rivals victory over Gunners. Dynamos seemed comfortable, leading 3-1 towards the end of the match.

Under Chitembwe, Caps had been on the rise and resurgent, beating Kiglon 2-0 and narrowly lost away to Wankie just by an odd goal. It is high time Bosso pulled up the socks and learn to take and maintain the lead. They could have upped the game a gear up but there is hope that with still a few games left, a good run of form will see them with a shout in the title.
