Liberian national soccer team has arrived

The Liberian national soccer team arrived in the country on Tuesday for an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Zimbabwe Warriors on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium.
 
The team's coach Roberto Landi, says although they have a lot of respect for the Warriors, they are nevertheless confident of upstaging their hosts and enhancing their chances of qualifying for Africa's biggest soccer showpiece to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea early next year.

The Liberian soccer team time arrived in three batches, with the first group arriving in the early hours of Tuesday morning while the second set touched down shortly after midday.

The third batch arrived around 4pm amid revelations that there's a final batch of players who are scheduled to arrive in the country today.

Among the players who arrived was the Lone Stars' menacing striker, who's also the West African nation's most celebrated player - Sekou Jabateh Oliseh - who plies his trade with CSKA Moscow in Russia.

Sunday's clash at the National Sports Stadium is crucial in that the Warriors need nothing short of victory to enhance their chances of sealing a place at the 2012 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Guinea and Equatorial Guinea.
