HOW Mine coach Luke Masomere has claimed that rivals Highlanders FC heavily relies on referees to determined match outcomes.

He said referees are  afraid of Highlanders supporters.

Both teams are due to clash this Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium.

"We are doing well in terms of preparations, but we are worried about how the match will be handled. We have played Highlanders this season and I was not happy with a number of decisions. There were a lot of questionable decisions that were made against us," said Masomere.

He complained particularly about their league match in June where the two teams played out a 1-1 draw with Bosso profiting from a penalty decision.

"The ground is not level when we play against Highlanders. We do not know whether it's a question of the referees being afraid of Highlanders supporters, but referees should always be neutral," he said.

Masomere said his side is prepared for a tough battle against the former champions who are desperate to climb up the league log.

"I am not saying we will win the match against Highlanders, but what I can promise is that we will give them a good game.

Highlanders are a good team, but what makes them play badly is that they rely on referees," he said.
