AN 83rd minute strike by Graham Ncube saw Highlanders collect maximum points from Blue Ribbon in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Barbourfields yesterday.
The result saw the former champions take their points tally to 38 from 23 games, five points behind joint log leaders Motor Action and FC Platinum.
Ncube controlled a Gift 'Thebe' Lunga flick off an Arnold Tshuma pass before slotting the ball past Tapiwa Zvaita to send the Highlanders supporters who were beginning to anticipate a draw into song and dance.
Former national team defender Bekithemba Ndlovu, playing as the right back in the absence of suspended Lawson Nkomo cleverly chipped the ball to Bruce Kangwa in the 26th minute but the midfielder instead of hitting a first time tried to control the ball and eventually lost possession. Ndlovu had a good game too.
Highlanders coach Mkhuphali Masuku was happy with the result.
