One of the candidates for the ZIFA presidential race Philip Chiyangwa says he has acquired 52 of the 58 votes required to win the top post.
Chiyangwa told journalists in the capital on Friday afternoon that despite the vetting process yet to be done, he has the majority behind him.
Despite the ZIFA electoral committee meeting set for this Saturday expected to decide which candidates meet expectations, Chiyangwa claims he just needs four votes to be the next ZIFA president.
Four candidates have filed nomination papers for the post of ZIFA president.
These are 1984 Soccer Star of the Year James Takavada, former ZIFA chairman and businessman Trevor Carelse Juul, Chiyangwa and former PSL secretary general Leslie Gwindi.
The successful nominees are set to be announced on the 15th of this month after vetting.
Elections for the ZIFA president, vice president and four board members will be held on the 5th of December.
