The Joshua Nkomo Legacy Shield pitting Highlanders FC and Dynamos FC might not take place after all.

On Tuesday, Jabulani Hadebe who is the Joshua Nkomo National Foundation chief executive officer had said the two legged clash is on this Sunday in Rufaro and Barbourfields Stadium on Tuesday.

He said in statement, "The Joshua Nkomo Foundation has organised the Joshua Nkomo Legacy Shield pitting Highlanders against Dynamos on Sunday December 20, at Rufaro in Harare and the second leg on Tuesday December 22, at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo. The Joshua Nkomo Legacy Shield is a symbolic event to commemorate and celebrate the life of the late Vice-President Dr Joshua Nkomo for his outstanding efforts in fighting for the liberation of Zimbabwe, political freedom, social and economic prosperity."

However, a day later, there are new developments.

Bulawayo24.com understands that the games hang in the balance due to gate-taking percentages.

The organisers are said to be proposing to take 60 percent for both games leaving the two giants to share 40 percent for the two games.

"We are not training. We only knew of the game in the press today.  We have not been told officially told of any game.

"The organisers had a chance to stage the game in July but failed,' said a senior Highlanders coaching staff member.
