NRZ Tigers 1 - 1 Tsholotsho Pirates
Tsholotsho Pirates are a point away from winning the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Division Two(2) Championship and with it a ticket to Southern Region Division One League after holding fort to bring a point from the hostile Dingumuzi Stadium in Plumtree where many a side come empty handed.
Rural Tsholotsho is celebrating already as they have been promoted to the first division and an icing on the cake is what their hunting for from the bakers tray as three games remaining should not fail to bring them a point that they have gone hunting for.
The Lizwe Sweswe mentored and Mandla Manyathela bankrolled outfit has been trailblazing sweeping all in-front of them in search of the Scudetto and the Scudetto they have bagged with a flawless display that has been a revelation.
Sweswe dug deep into his need for a championship medal going as far as the mountainous Mutare to search for talent that he fused with the local boys from Tsholotsho and Bulawayo and they did not disappoint.
Yes I can hear some mumbling as some might feel the local talent has been sidelined. Our own talent has been obsessed by the beer-gardens as they have tended to worship beer (thatha nkawu) at the expense of their talents and Sweswe like any other coach that is results oriented decided to search for talent elsewhere that is determined, dedicated and disciplined and the results just flawed.
Sweswe spotted the talent during the 2010 National Youth Games in Harare and the boys from the mountains did not disappoint fusing well with the locals to carve out history for rural Tsholotsho.
a piece of advise to the gaffer Sweswe and the bankroller Manyathela is to strive to plug the loopholes that they noticed throughout their campaign and try to gel it with the current side. That will ensure continuity and fluidity on their side. Renewal of tried talent has led to the downfall of many side as sides discard a winning team with a winning formula for big name flops that don't even bring commercial value to sides.
Halalala Tsholotsho rural Tsholotsho is celebrating. This is an eye opener to other Rural Districts to pull their resources together to promote rural talent after all football is a highly paying profession that players can lean all if properly managed.
Sizane Fruits and Vegetables look set to be the bridesmaids of Tsholotsho Pirates in Southern Region excursion as they are almost guaranteed a top two finish and a promotion ticket. Rainbow, NRZ Tigers, Zim Leopards, Ajax Hotspurs, Highlanders and East Rovers complete the top 8 slots.
A relegation dogfight is raising some dust as any of Saucetown Spurs, Zimplow, ZRP Byo Province, Iminyela Stars, Falakhe, Amalanda, Luveve Big XI, Kershelmar and Green Mambas can face the dreaded chop into unfashionable Division Three(3).
