PARLIAMENT of Zimbabwe was on 22 September 2011 told that former Warriors Goalkeeper – Energy Murambadoro cried when he was told that he must "let in" goals during one of the Asiagate scandal matches.

According to Volume 38, Number 4 of the Hansard, Kambuzuma legislator – Honorable Willias Madzimure, – Murambadoro never knew that he was taking part in a "fixed match" and cried when instructed to let in goals.

Said the MP:
"Madam Speaker, this did not happen one. There is in fact in the report (Asiagate Report), where it is reported that one our goalkeepers –if it was not for injuries, he could have gone very far, his name is Energy Murambadoro.

"When he was told that he was supposed to let in goals, he actually cried, someone had to console him and ask him that you must just take it easy, not as a game but take it as a gambling game," he said.

The MP who belongs to the Movement for Democratic Change formation led by Prime Minister Mr Morgan Tsvangirai added:

"You just have to take it easy as if you are playing mabhuza kumusha. He was crying because he could not believe it, he thought he was out there to market himself as an individual and was told to let in four goals. He could not believe it," said the MP.

The legislator also slammed Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) for ineptness and corruption and called for av probe into the association's operations.

Asiagte was a scam in which bogus national soccer teams would be assembled nicodimously to go and play fixed matches.
