YOUNG WARRIORS defender Liberty Chakoroma has dumped Dynamos for newly promoted Ngezi Platinum Stars amid allegations that he was offered a second hand Japanese vehicle as signing on fees by the Glamour Boys.

Chakoroma was unveiled as a Ngezi Platinum Stars player in the capital on Friday night. The defender, who is returning from an unsuccessful sojourn in the ABSA premiership with Free State Stars, disclosed that DeMbare failed to meet his demands."I never signed for Dynamos," he said. "I was only reading about it in the newspapers but in reality what happened is that I tabled my demands and we appeared to be in agreement on everything. "Things however changed when they offered a car as signing on fees and I could not take it. "I then looked at my options and thought it best to join the Ngezi Platinum project on a one year contract. "I still have high hopes of playing in more competitive leagues internationally and I think Ngezi offers me a very good opportunity to do just that."

A source close to Dynamos who declined to be named said the defender had demanded $8 000 as signing on fees for a one year deal but the club insisted on paying him with a car that is selling for about $3 500 at several garages in the capital.

"It's sad that we continue losing quality players due to our system of insisting on signing players using over priced cars. This is the same way we lost (Ronald) Chitiyo and Blessing (Moyo) to Harare City," said the source. However, Dynamos secretary general Webster Chikengezha vehemently denied that Dynamos was offering cars as sign on fees. He said they never made such an offer to any player this season.

"I am the one who negotiates and signs these players and I can tell you authoritatively that these are false allegations," said Chikengezha.

"The last time we bought a car for a player was in June last year and for your own information we don't offer cars, it's the players who requests the cars.

"In Chakoroma's case, our negotiations were premised on the fact that he was a free agent only for Buffaloes to then come to us and say the player is still contracted to them. "We have been honest to say that we are not in a position to pay transfer fees and that is how the deal to sign Chakoroma collapsed."Ngezi, who will plunge into top flight football under the mentorship of Clifton Kadurira, also unveiled former Dynamos players Washington Pakamisa and Zivanai Mhanda as well as former Harare City defender Edgar Tapera.

DeMbare's Samba boys delayed

THE three Brazilian players eyed by Dynamos were barred from leaving their country by immigration authorities on Friday.

The three yet to be named players were expected in the country yesterday afternoon but it emerged that they are still in Rio de Janeiro.

Dynamos secretary general Webster Chikengezha said the South American country's immigration authorities could not allow the players to board the plane on open tickets.

An online source, traveltips.com says that unlike a regular return ticket, an open-ended airline ticket sends a person to a destination on a specific date, with a flexible return date that is usually within one year of the departure date.

Chikengezha confirmed the developments and said they are now making the necessary adjustments.

"They were at the airport yesterday (Friday) but unfortunately were denied the opportunity to board the plane on open tickets.

"We are now changing the return dates to fall inside the first three months of their arrival, instead of December," he said.

He added that they are now expecting the Brazillians on Wednesday.

"They must now be flying in on Wednesday after we have made the necessary changes to their tickets," he said.

DeMbare's Portuguese coach Paulo Jorge Silva is in the hunt for strikers and two of the three Brazilian players are said to be strikers while the third one is primarily a midfielder who can also play in defence.

Goal scoring has been DeMbare's weakest link in the past five years.

ln the four seasons they won the title on the bounce, they largely built their success on an uncompromising defence rather than a sharp frontline.

Their return of 36 goals last season made them the least scoring in the teams that finished in the top four.

FC Platinum were the best attacking team in the league scoring 52 goals, 16 strikes better than Dynamos.
