Premier soccer clubs to elect new chair

Premier soccer clubs will this weekend convene in the capital to elect a new chairman to succeed Twine Phiri.
Acting Chairman Peter Dube, who is also Highlanders' chair, will go head to head for the seat with Dynamos chairman Kenias Mubaiwa.
The ZIFA board led by Philip Chiyangwa ordered elections to be held by the PSL during its first board meeting last year.
The ZIFA board argued that Phiri by virtue of his position was part of the board led by Cuthbert Dube whose mandate was revoked by the ZIFA councillors.
Initially Phiri refused to step down arguing he was constitutionally elected but late backed down.
