Arsenal are looking to extend a five game unbeaten streak in Premier League play, and should be able to field striker Marouane Chamakh, who is recovering well from a slight knock. Denilson will receive a late fitness test on a hip injury.
Thomas Vermaelen and Manuel Almunia are among a number of long term injury absentees for the Gunners.
Franco Di Santo could start up front for Wigan, after making his return from a long term injury off the bench in last week's 1-1 draw against Fulham. Manchester United loanee Tom Cleverley is out with injury, while Chris Kirkland, James McCarthy and Victor Moses are all on the injury list for the Latics.
