Tottenham Hotspur can climb back into the top four with a victory at mid-table Newcastle United. Newcastle are unbeaten in three games since their last defeat, which was a 2-0 loss to Tottenham st White Hart Lane.
Newcastle midfielder Alan Smith has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury, while Cheik Tote is suspended for the Magpies. Leading goal scorer Andy Carroll is hoping to shake off a thigh injury in time to play.
Tom Huddlestone and Ledley King are sidelined for Tottenham, while Jonathan Woodgate could return from a career threatening groin injury. Woodgate played well in a training match in midweek, and will be hoping for a return.
South African World Cup star Steven Pienaar will make his debut for Spurs, after joining in midweek from Everton.
