FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza had declared that he is on a mission to show the nation how football should be played.

Although his second string team missed out on a chance to play in tomorrow's Uhuru Cup final against Chicken Inn, the former Warriors mentor was impressed they acquitted themselves despite finishing the match with ten men following the sending off of substitute Marshal Mudehwe.

"We played brilliantly, it was a fantastic performance and I am proud of my boys," said Mapeza.

FC Platinum surged into the lead with just 12 minutes on the clock, the exciting Ishamael Wadi racing to a Tarisai Rukanda through ball before beating Bosso goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda.

Highlanders pulled level on 24 minutes with Benson Phiri heading a Knox Mtizwa corner kick beyond the reach of Pure Platinum Play goalkeeper Francis Tizayi.

In a bid to add some oomph to his team, Mapeza threw Mudehwe into the fray but the midfielder , who had a horror show when the Warriors met Swaziland last month, only lasted 12 minutes on the park.

Mudehwe elbowed Honest Moyo in an off the ball incident.

In the penalty shootout, the Pure Platinum Play duo of Simon Shoko and Brian Muzondiwa fluffed their efforts either side of Rodwell Chinyengetere's conversion.

Bosso were ruthless with Bruce Kangwa, Mtizwa and Simon Munawa getting the better of Tizayi.

But despite the defeat, Mapeza could afford a smile.

"I didn't play my full strength team but we still managed to give them a good run. I am on a mission to show people how football should be played," he said.

Bosso coach Alroy Akbay hailed Sibanda for emerging as the hero after saving Shoko and Muzondiwa's penalties.

"It wasn't an easy game, I was disappointed that we wasted so many chances. I don't want to win with penalties.

"I am however happy that we won and very much excited that Ariel Sibanda saved two penalties," said the Dutchman.
