DESPITE notching up a two goal win, How Mine coach, Kelvin Kaindu expressed disappointment with the way his charges played and characteristically thanked God for handing his side the victory in a match they could have easily lost.

Kaindu was cross with his players after they put up a shoddy display but managed to snatch the three points from visiting Triangle in a lukewarm Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

The Zambian coach said although he was happy with getting three points without conceding, he curiously felt it would have been better to lose considering the poor showing from his players so that he can rectify whatever needs to be fixed. Triangle lived to rue the two clear cut chances they created in the first half which could have swung the game in their favour and despite the good performance that saw them dominate proceedings the Sugar Sugar Boys conceded for the first time this season.

The Lowveld side had the upper hand in the first half Malvern Gaki could have scored the opener in the 34thh minute after being set up by Lameck Nhamo and he managed to outpace the How Mine defence but could not beat Munyaradzi Diya who was in between the posts for the gold miners.

Four minutes later it was Gaki who produced a defence splitting pass that found Tawanda Muyendi but after shaking off How Mine defenders he released a poor shot that was blocked by Diya.

The second half saw Triangle continue with their dominance but it was How Mine who managed to break the deadlock in the 75th when a Charles Sibanda taken corner kick found substitute Godfrey Nguwodzawo who tapped it in at the far post.

Kudakwashe Musharu scored a header, his first for the season, three minutes later to cement How Mine's lucky after they had been awarded a free kick and Tsepo Ranthokoane crossed it in and found the striker unmarked.

The coming in of Heritein Masuku seemed to change the game for the gold miners as they were able to hold on to the ball more and come up with more attacking moves.

Triangle coach, David "Yogi" Mandigora said it was not their day but was happy with the way his charges played adding they did everything but score.

"I'm very disappointed with the result because it is our first loss of the season but we played our best football and it wasn't our day we created several chances but couldn't bury them but they managed to score from the corner and set piece," said Mandigora.

Kaindu said it was a tough match but was disappointed how his team played adding he was glad to pick up the three points.

"I thank God we managed to get three points and keep a clean sheet because it was a tough match and we struggled a lot. The whole team played below par and was a pale shadow of the team that played against Chicken Inn," he said.
