5 PSL players suspended

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn will be without steady central defender Lawrence Mhlanga when they take on Triangle United at Luveve Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Mhlanga is one of five players suspended for Match Day 6 of the PSL after accumulating three yellow cards. The others are Triangle's Marvellous Mukumba, Sam Msimbu of Mutare City Rovers, Liberty Chikoroma of Ngezi Platinum and Bulawayo City's Proud Zireni.
With Mhlanga, a member of the national team out, Chicken Inn will now pair Moses Jackson with Ben Nyahunzwi in central defence. The champions will be hoping to recover from two consecutive losses, having gone three games without a win.
Chicken Inn's last victory was a laboured 1-0 win against debutants Border Strikers in Zvishavane courtesy of a Devine Lunga strike. They have to win tomorrow's encounter to keep their title defence hopes alive.
Chicken Inn seem to have lost their championship mojo as they sit in ninth place with nine points off five matches. They trail leaders Caps United by six points.
Chicken Inn beat Triangle 2-1 the last time they met at Gibbo Stadium in the Lowveld following a goalless draw in the first leg at Luveve Stadium. Chicken Inn captain Danny Phiri said they were hungry for maximum points.
"We just have to win this game and take our title defence hopes back on track. Everyone knows that we've to be psychologically prepared for this game and forget about the points that we've dropped. We must have the right attitude for the game and come out with three points," said Phiri.
Triangle are sixth, a point above Chicken Inn setting the stage for an exciting encounter as both teams know that a loss would widen the gap between them and the early pacesetters.
Triangle have gone for two games without a win and last tasted victory against new boys and strugglers Border Strikers, whom they beat 1-0 through a penalty converted by Mukumba.
Mukumba misses tomorrow's game, but the visitors have equally good players such as Nelson Meson, veteran Godfrey Zhokinyi, the national Under-23's Malvin Gaki, Courage Denias and former Ntabazinduna and Flame Lily's James Chivasa to bank on.
Chicken Inn will pin their hopes on Phiri, Edmore Chirambadare, Mitchelle Katsvairo, Obidiah Tarumbwa, George Majika and Clemence Matawu. In other matches, Bulawayo City will be brimming with confidence when they face Chapungu following their 1-0 win over champions Chicken Inn last week.
The municipal team will, however, be without utility player Zireni, who has been impressive since the beginning of the season.
Chapungu will also be without skipper Collin Kwaramba, who received a red card in their 0-1 loss to Highlanders last Sunday. Highlanders travel to Mhondoro on Saturday for a tie against Ngezi Platinum, who will be missing the services of central defender Chikoroma. His absence might leave the miners vulnerable at the back.
Chikoroma, formerly with South African Absa Premiership side Free State Stars, has been a vital cog for the new boys.
Bosso are travelling for the second time out of Bulawayo since the start of the season following their last road trip to Hwange on the first week of the season. Highlanders blew away the coalminers 3-0 and will be hoping to maintain that record on the road.
