STRUGGLING BORDER Strikers have been granted temporal permission to play home games at  Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge.

The PSL this week said they had granted the Beitbridge side temporary permission to use the facility following an inspection by the league's grounds committee, who were satisfied by the facelift given to the stadium.

PSL as it did not meet the required PSL standards.

Under PSL rules and regulations, for a stadium to host topflight matches, it must have a seating capacity of 5,000 spectators with a VIP stand that seats not less than 50 people; an anti- doping room; dressing rooms; a public address system; a well equipped first aid room and Internet facilities, among other requirements.

The newly-promoted side has been playing their home matches at Maglas Stadium in Zvishavane following the condemnation of Dulibadzimu.

It's first home game would be against Chapungu this weekend.

Assistant coach Never Malunga said they can't wait for the homecoming moment.

"Now that we are playing at home, we want to win the first game to make it a memorable event. Everyone in the camp is happy and raring to go," said Malunga.

Chapungu will be hoping to spoil the party though with coach John Nyikadzino under pressure following a poor start to the season.

"We have visited more intimidating venues than Beitbridge, so this is nothing to us," said Nyikadzino.

"The excitement in Beitbridge might actually work to our advantage because they are under pressure to win this match. We are ready for the match, we have been playing very well, but unfortunately, we are not scoring as much as we would want".
