Charles Sibanda to miss Bosso match

HOW MINE striker, Charles Sibanda will miss tomorrow's Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against former club Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium after travelling to South Africa for trials with second-tier league side Black Leopards.

Sibanda is hoping to link up with FC Platinum developmental coach Jairos Tapera, who has also joined the South African side.

How Mine coach, Kelvin Kaindu, a former Highlanders' gaffer confirmed Sibanda's trial stint in South Africa and also ruled out Timothy January due to injury.

Kaindu, who has gone the last three matches without a win, banks on his good spell against big guns Caps United, Chicken Inn and FC Platinum.

He, however, conceded How Mine go into tomorrow's match as underdogs against Bosso, who are on a purple patch with the a 2-0 win over rival Dynamos before the break.

"We are back in action in yet another derby. The good thing is that we are playing against Highlanders, who are playing well at the moment and have a massive following and that alone should be our motivation. My boys have always had a positive approach when playing the big sides and we have not played badly in Bulawayo. Our worst result has been a draw. But we come into Sunday (tomorrow)'s match as underdogs," Kaindu said.

He will bank on the experience of Kuda Musharu, Pasca Manhanga and Godfrey Nguwodzawo and fellow Zambian Makundika Sakala to stifle the Highlanders midfield.

Highlanders coach, Erol Akbay is a bit worried playing How Mine, who were in action last week, while the Bulawayo giants were on a break as they had three players in Prince Dube, Bruce Kangwa and King Nadolo on national duty.

"We have not been playing in the past three weeks and we play How Mine, a very good side. It will be a difficult game, but we will see what happens on the day. We have been out of action for a while so How Mine might have the advantage, but maybe and maybe not," he said.

Dube is back from Cameroon and started training on Wednesday, while Kangwa and Nadolo are doubtful after their participation at the Cosafa Cup in Namibia.

However, the Bosso technical team said if the two arrived on time, they could be joining the rest of the team in camp.
