According to Soccer-Laduma website Jomo Cosmos had targeted Benjani Mwaruwari, with Ezenkosi boss, Jomo Sono, wanting to bring the former Cosmos player back to the club.
Despite Sono targeting the Zimbabwean striker, the player's manager has ruled out a possible move to Cosmos, although he said that he would help the team in a non-playing capacity.
Mwaruwari has a one-year contract with English Championship outfit Portsmouth and has no intention of leaving Europe anytime soon.
The Siya crew caught up with his manager, Ralph Nkomo, and he said that the 33-year-old player would like to contribute to Cosmos and thank them for what they did for him, but not as a player.
"It is true that Jomo spoke to Benjani and he told him that if he were to play for Cosmos it would be at the end of the season but he is not ready to leave Europe yet.
He has just signed with Portsmouth and he is doing well there.
"As I am speaking to you he is just having a little check-up and massage with me here and he said that he would want to help Cosmos in any other way apart from playing.
Maybe it could be in the technical department or any other areas that Jomo would feel fitting for Benjani.
"He would love to do that and give back to the team that helped him achieve what he has achieved so far," the Zimbabwean-born Nkomo concluded.
