THE Southern Region Division One Soccer League's leading goal scorer Nhlanhla Ndlovu has become Dutch coach Erol Akbay's first signing for Highlanders.

It took just three days for Ndlovu to convince Akbay that he is ripe to don the famous black and white jersey as a direct replacement for Bidvest Wits bound Knox Mutizwa.

Ndlovu has agreed a two-year deal with the Bulawayo giants.

Mutizwa is set to join Bidvest Wits in South Africa for a pre-season camp next week and Akbay is convinced Ndlovu is the correct fit to the Bosso attack.

Highlanders' chief executive Ndumiso Gumede said they are looking forward to reuniting with Ndlovu, who first signed a contract with Bosso in 2014.

"Ndlovu has renewed his contract with Highlanders after impressing the coach and will be joining us next week. He was a little grumpy because we owed him something from the previous deal. Ndlovu had a contract with us which he signed in July 2014 and was coming to an end on June 30, 2016. We simply exercised the right to extend the deal because when we signed him, we loaned him out to Trumus Warriors, who in turn took him to Amagagasi. Ndlovu comes in as a direct replacement for Mutizwa," said Gumede.

The Bosso CEO said they'd arranged to clear the player's outstanding allowances.

Bosso have Prince Dube, veteran Ralph Matema and Kasimero Chimbadzwa as their attackers. However, Matema is prone to injuries while Chimbadzwa is yet to settle. Ndlovu, who is bubbling with confidence, should be a useful addition to complement Dube upfront.

Before settling for Bosso, Ndlovu's conversion rate in the lower league also attracted interest from Dynamos, as well as South Africa's National First Division side Black Leopards.

Amagagasi posted a statement on their official Facebook page confirming Ndlovu's deal with Highlanders.

"Nhlanhla Ndlovu, our leading striker, is set to join Highlanders Football Club this coming transfer window after agreeing personal terms with Bosso. We would like to wish him all the best," reads a statement from Amagagasi.
