National teams don't have to look far to get the right goal-keeper. Brian Chidzondo is a man to watch after he did pride for his school team at the Chikomba NASH under 17 District soccer competitions when he served four penalties in the shoot-out of the final game.

Rutanhira Secondary School went on to win the Chikomba NASH soccer competitions after crushing Riversdale 4-1 in the finals played at Kwenda High School last Friday.

The Zone 5 team will represent Chikomba District in the provincial competitions that will be held in Mudzi District on July 1 2016.

The coach of the team, Michael Mutimbanyoka, said it is the first time in history that the school represents the district at provincial level.
"The boys were determined. It was a very challenging final which was even tougher after the equalising score in the second half. We thank Brian Chidzondo, a versatile player who saved all the penalties," Mutimbanyoka said.

Last year Rutanhira team was defeated by Daramombe in the district finals.

Rutanhira Secondary School's Under 16 girls' handball team will also represent the district in the provincial team that will be held at Chemhanza High School on July, 2016. Meanwhile, Liebenberg High School Under 20 boys volleyball team will proceed to the provincial competitions that will be held at Visitation-Makumbi High School on July 15 2016, after defeating Kwenda.
