Highlanders FC head coach Erol Akbay was over the moon on Sunday after he clinched his first silverware in the country.

Highlanders beat  beat Harare City 4-2 on  penalties.

Stand in keeper, Prosper Matuta was the hero for Highlanders saving two spot kicks in the shootout.

Erik Mudzingwa, Simon Munawa, Peter Dube and Peter Muduhwa all scored for Highlanders.

William Manondo and Jerry Chipangura scored for visiting Harare City.

Highlanders collected the $12 000 cheque for the second successive season, while runners-up Harare City collected $8 000.

After the match Akbay said :  "I am very happy with this, it's my first cup at the club and it feels good.
"We did not play as well as we wanted especially in the first half but what matters is the win".

Harare City head coach Moses Chunga was left frustrated and felt his team should have made their dominance count and finish the game earlier.

"We should have buried the game in the first 90 minutes. "When you go into a penalty shoot-out this is when luck comes and we got a bit nervous.

"Its now water under the bridge and we shift attention to our next league match".
