Wasteful Caps United squeezed past Highlanders by one goal to nil at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.

The home side had the luxury of missing a penalty hardly two minutes after Dominic Chungwa had tapped home after the 57th minute.

Devon Chafa took the penalty which Arial Sibanda easily saved.

In the 75th minute, Ronald Pfumbidzai rattled the post for Caps United.

Highlanders piled pressure in the last ten minutes but they could not score.

The victory for Caps United place them at position two with 32 points, one ahead of Highlanders and four points behind FC Platinum.

Caps United assistant coach Mark Mathe said they are happy with the three points.

" We did not perform the way we wanted but three points is good".

Highlanders head coach Erol Akbay said his side struggled to play its usual game as they where missing many regular players.

"We had few goal scoring chances. We where lucky to lose one zero".
