The Castle Lager Premiership league action resumed this weekend with a string of draws, mainly goalless dominating the games.

Only seven goals where scored in eight games played. Perhaps players are still rusty and lack match fitness.

Three games ended goalless, one ended in a goal apiece with three wins recorded.

On Saturday, ZPC Kariba and Dynamos drew nil all at Nyamunga Stadium and Mutare City and Chapungu also had a similar result in Mutare.

Bulawayo City and log leaders FC Platinum looked set for another goalless encounter.

However, Rodwell Chinyengetere scored late in the 89th to seal three points for FC Platinum.

The last game between How Mine and Border Strikers saw two goals being scored.

The match produced the fastest goal so far in the season after Border Strikers went in front inside the first minute when Kudzanai Kwashi scored.

How Mine got themselves back in the game with Praise Tonha equalising on the half-way mark. Pascal Manhanga wasted a glorious opportunity for How Mine when he failed to convert from the penalty spot
Then on Sunday (today) Triangle  and Ngezi Platinum drew nil all at Gibbo Stadium.

However, goals where to come when Chicken Inn  beat Harare City two nil while  Hwange edged  Tsholotsho one nil.

In a late kick off which was probably the major highlight, Caps United edged  Highlanders one zero at the National Sport Stadium this afternoon.

Makepekepe avenge the defeat suffered at Barbourfields two weeks ago. Dominic Chungwa scored the all-important goal in the second half.

The first half saw CAPS United creating the better of the chances but action swung from one end to another as both sides looked to take the advantage.

In the 58th minute Dominic Chungwa made up for his first half miss when he scored following a rebound after a blistering shot from an impressive Tafadzwa Rusike strike was saved by Ariel Sibanda.

A minute later CAPS United could have gone two up after a penalty was awarded when Rusike again in the thick of things , won a penalty after   Felix Chindungwe handled in the box.

Devon Chafa's spot kick was saved by Sibanda.

Highlanders rallied for the equaliser and piled the pressure late on causing a number of anxious moments but CAPS United held on to win.
