CAPS United legend Alois Bunjira has quit as board member of the club in a shocking move that comes at a time when the Green Machine is facing serious financial problems that has seen players revolting twice this season.

The 1996 Soccer Star of the Year finalist said he is leaving Caps United to pursue what he calls 'my passion of coaching' as well as concentrate on his academy, Albun Soccer Academy.

"Let me take this opportunity to let you know that I have resigned from CAPS United. I have resigned so that I can pursue my passion of coaching and also run my soccer academy," said Bunjira.

He said he had a good relationship with the rest of the Caps United board and remained convinced that the club was well on course to lift the league title this year.

"I have had a great time at Caps United but I felt I am more at home on the playing field than in the office at the moment. Maybe I will consider administration again in the near future but for now I want to concentrate on my coaching and hope to groom a lot of good players from my academy. I remain a passionate member of the Caps United family. The team is in a great position to win the league this season and I wish my great friend Lloyd Chitembwe all the best. I will still be available whenever I am needed to help here and there," he said.

He added;

"I had a great working relationship with the shareholders and the board. The great relationship remains and I know together they will steer the club to greater heights. It is just a matter of time. I truly enjoyed my time in the Caps United board".

Makepekepe are in Bulawayo tomorrow for a league match against Bulawayo City at Barbourfields Stadium.
