Mighty Warriors members who participated in the disastrous Olympics Games in Brazil have been rewarded with 'flashy' Samsung S7 phones worth $700 as token of appreciation.
The gadgets are said to be "$200 more than the amount the players received as allowances from the Zimbabwe Olympics Committee".
The players, upon their return were handed $5 each as transport money.
According to Sunday News, Team Zimbabwe chef de mission Titus Zvomuya said they took receipt of the gadgets after negotiations with both the International Olympic Committee and Samsung.
"An official handover will be done once we have completed the paperwork with the Ministry of Sports and Zimra so that they are not charged duty as the phones came in as a bulky baggage and not with individuals," said Zvomuya
The Mighty Warriors reportedly failed to get the phones while in Brazil because they were not staying at the Olympic Village.
Zifa President Philip Chiyangwa recently said each Mighty Warriors player would be allocated a residential stand.
