Barbourfields pitch invader escape with caution

A Bulawayo court has only cautioned and discharged Tendai Donga, a streaker who ran into the field of play on Sunday during Highlanders and How Mine game at Barbourfields stadium.

Donga was today cautioned and released, Bulawayo24.com has learned.

However, Highlanders is set to be fined $2000 for Donga's conduct.

According to Chronicle today, it quoted

Acting Bulawayo police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Abednico Ncube saying Donga's conduct fuelled hooliganism in stadia.

"We arrested him before the match started after he jumped over a precast wall to gain entrance into the stadium. Alert officers arrested him and removed him from the stadium.

"When Highlanders scored their penalty, he invaded the pitch and ran across the field. He was arrested and we noted that he was the same person that we had cautioned and released. We arrested him".
