The government has intervened to ensure that the Warriors fulfill their AFCON fixture against Guinea set for tomorrow.

The Warriors were initially scheduled to have left for Guinea on Friday but financial challenges saw the team failing to leave for West Africa as scheduled.

The Minister of Sport and Recreation Minister Makhosini Hlongwane said the Warriors are now expected to leave this afternoon on a chartered plain straight to Conakry, the Guinean capital.

He revealed that funds towards the trip have been sourced, adding that supporters have also been mobilised to travel with the players.

NetOne also availing US$68 000 for the Warriors trip to Guinea which has been rescheduled to early Saturday morning.

Addressing the media at the handover of US$68 000 by NetOne to ZIFA, the local football governing body's president Philip Chiyangwa thanked NetOne for the intervention.

Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa will now have no time for his charges to train leaving him with lots of work in motivating the team ahead of Sunday's encounter.

Foreign based players are expected to join the rest of the team in Conakry.

Zimbabwe have already qualified for the 2017 AFCON tourney to be held in Gabon but Pasuwa will be looking to use the trip to West Africa to assess his charges.
