Zimbabwe 2011 Premier Soccer League Champions, Dynamos have opted to participate in the lucrative CAF Champions League next year, thus letting go a dangling financial carrot from Mbada Diamonds, who had promised a US$150 000 support package for its cup winners, who are the CAF Confederation Cup entrants.
Despite all their past financial drawbacks in the past years, the Harare giants chose the Champions League over the second tier Confederations Cup.
Dynamos Chairman, Kenny Mubaiwa confirmed their decision, saying the brand Dynamos goes with the Champions League standards, adding that DeMbare felt it would be impossible to down grade themselves to the Confederations Cup even though it means losing the lucrative US$150 000 promised by sponsors, Mbada.
This means Dynamos will join league runners up, FC Platinum, who had already confirmed their participation in the CAF Champions league.
Hwange will participate in the CAF Confederations Cup but the second team in that competition, Motor Action have not yet indicated their intentions to take part.
