The Warriors are battling to get a decent international friendly match in preparation for the third Africa Cup of Nations final appearance next year.
Egypt seem to be the sure bet but nothing solid has been agreed.
Jamaica is also in the picture as it has requested a game, Zifa spokesperson, Xolisani Gwesela said.
According to Gwasela, the sticking issue with the Egypt game is the match venue and dates.
"Egypt have said they want to play us in early January before the tournament," he said.
"We are still in discussions with them regarding the venue and the actual date of the match. But they want the match to be played in Egypt. Most teams are playing in the World Cup qualifiers, so it is difficult to secure a friendly match during the November international break.
The Kalisto Pasuwa coached side have have been drawn in a tough group that includes Algeria, Senegal and Tunisia.
Added Gwesela , "There is also interest from Jamaica. They want to play the Warriors, but again, we are still discussing the date and venue".
