Ecocash causes stir in Zimbabwe as customers cry foul of being swindled of their money

The Econet mode of money transfer, Ecocash has caused a stir in Zimbabwe since Monday as many users of the mode of transfer complain that they are failing to buy goods using it.
Some complained that the system would gobble their money but not reflect on the recipients that they have transferred the money hence they are either not given the goods they would be buying.
Several clients would enter shops intending to buy goods but abandon the goods after failing to transect using Ecocash.
Several people are seen since Monday queuing at Econet trying to recover their money which was gobbled by the system yet the merchants systems would not reflect the transaction.
In the picture some of the groceries abandoned in Pick n Pay (CBD) in the past hour due to problems with Ecocash. Given the market dominance by Ecocash and the lack of cash in the country, today Zimbabwe was CLOSED for business.
